2007 NL West Preview

  1. San Diego Padres - A great mix of veterans and young talent lead this team to the NLCS before they run into the dominance of Pedro Martinez and run out of steam. Adrian Gonzalez and Kevin Kouzmanoff bring the youth while the Giles brothers bring the veteran leadership in the order. Peavy and Young along with Maddux and Wells do the same with the staff. The pen is great as Trevor Hoffman is indestructible. The Gileses and Maddux keep the locker room loose by running around naked and urinating on people in the shower. Should be a fun team to watch this season.

  2. Los Angelos Dodgers - This team is just too old and injury prone to make the playoffs. Schmidt is great but will get hurt. So will Penny. And Wolf. Don't forget Nomar, Kent, and Saito. Talented team but injuries will be the difference.

  3. San Fransisco Giants - This team is old enough to play on the senior tour if there was one. But the pitching staff of Zito (ridiculously overpaid), Lowry, and Cain should pull them near .500. They need to get younger on the field though because the team will flat out wear down toward the end of the season.

  4. Arizona Diamondbacks - I don't really know why they reacquired Randy Johnson, but they did. Brandon Webb is an absolute stud who will be a Yankee soon enough. Young and Drew are steps in the right direction but the rest of the team is average at best.

  5. Colorado Rockies - Todd Helton is a steroid free shell. But Matt Holliday and Garrett Atkins are great players to build around. The problem is that Ellis Burks is not walking through that door. Larry Walker is not walking through that door. And even if they did they are old and beaten up.
